Actor Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is set to create history in Tamil Nadu politics as Governor Rajendra Arlekar has officially invited him to form the government. This decision follows a crucial meeting where the Governor eased his initial stance, allowing Vijay to take the oath of office before formally proving a majority in the assembly within 14 days. Having secured 108 seats in the elections, TVK has gained support from the Congress and VCK, bringing their total strength to 115 members—just three short of the required majority. While negotiations continue with other parties like the CPM, CPI, and PMK, the atmosphere in Chennai is electric, with thousands of fans gathering at the Nehru Indoor Stadium to witness their favorite star transition from a dominant cinema icon to the Chief Minister of the state.
