Amidst the escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, the Indian super tanker ‘Sarvashakti’ has successfully navigated the highly volatile Strait of Hormuz, carrying 45,000 tons of LPG. This critical journey, which had been stalled for weeks due to military activity and international restrictions, marks a significant diplomatic and economic triumph for India, ensuring the stability of its domestic cooking gas supply. Despite the extreme risks associated with transporting flammable cargo through a zone under heavy Iranian surveillance and US naval presence, India’s neutral diplomatic stance appears to have facilitated the safe passage of the vessel. The successful transit of Sarvashakti not only provides immediate relief to the Indian energy market but also offers hope for other Indian ships currently stranded in the Persian Gulf, showcasing India’s ability to maintain its energy security even in times of global conflict.
