The Kerala Food and Public Distribution Department has introduced significant changes to the ration distribution schedule for May, offering cardholders a chance to receive double benefits by combining the quotas for April and May. Due to technical issues where many consumers missed their April allocations while claiming May’s supplies early, the deadline for collecting April’s ration has been extended to May 5th. This extension is particularly beneficial for those who were previously unable to collect their supplies due to stock shortages at Supplyco outlets or technical errors in the E-POS machines. Under this special arrangement, Yellow cardholders can receive up to 60 kg of rice and 2 kg of wheat if they collect both months’ quotas by May 5th, while Pink, Blue, and White cardholders will also see their allocations effectively doubled for this period.
