Kerala UDF Cabinet Formation

Following a significant victory in the assembly elections, the UDF is actively discussing the formation of its new cabinet, with reports suggesting a 21-member ministry including the Chief Minister. While V.D. Satheesan, K.C. Venugopal, and Ramesh Chennithala are the top contenders for the Chief Minister’s post, the ministerial list is expected to feature a blend of seasoned veterans and fresh young faces. The Congress is likely to hold 11 ministerial positions, with names like Chandy Oommen, Mathew Kuzhalnadan, and K. Muraleedharan prominently featured, while the Muslim League is anticipated to secure five spots, potentially including leaders like P.K. Kunhalikutty and N. Samsudheen. Other alliance partners such as the Kerala Congress (Joseph), RSP, and CMP are also expected to receive representation. This strategic allocation aims to balance seniority, regional representation, and community interests to ensure a stable and effective government for the state.
