In a harrowing incident in Bengaluru, a 45-year-old government official named Ramanjinappa allegedly murdered his 40-year-old partner, Saroja, a private college professor, after she repeatedly rejected his marriage proposals. The tragedy unfolded during a trip to Nandi Hills on May 2nd, where Ramanjinappa reportedly attacked Saroja with a hammer following a heated argument inside a car borrowed from a friend. To cover up the crime, he moved her body to the backseat and set the vehicle on fire before fleeing the scene with burn injuries. The crime came to light after the car’s automatic collision notification system alerted the owner, leading police to the charred remains. Following an intensive search, Ramanjinappa was found dead on a railway track near Bidadi, having reportedly taken his own life by jumping in front of a train. This case highlights a series of recent violent crimes, including a fatal assault on a woman by a notorious fraudster and a domestic murder in Uttar Pradesh disguised as a hit-and-run, underscoring a disturbing trend of extreme violence in personal disputes.
