Maruti Suzuki new electric vehicle

Maruti Suzuki is planning to revolutionize the Indian electric vehicle market by launching four new electric models by 2031, aiming to challenge the dominance of brands like Tata and Mahindra. Their ambitious master plan includes a range of vehicles, from an entry-level budget EV priced as low as 4 lakhs to a versatile seven-seater MPV (codenamed YMC) expected to compete with the Kia Carens EV. This upcoming MPV is anticipated to offer battery options of 49kWh and 61.1kWh, providing a range of 400 to 500 kilometers on a single charge with a very low running cost of approximately 1 to 1.5 rupees per kilometer. Additionally, Maruti plans to introduce electric versions of popular models like the Brezza or Fronx to compete in the compact SUV segment, potentially utilizing innovative “Battery as a Service” schemes to make these high-tech vehicles more affordable for the general public.
