In a tragic incident that has shocked the community of Vlathankara near Neyyattinkara, a 36-year-old teacher named Vishnunath allegedly murdered his 33-year-old wife, Alma, following a domestic dispute. The couple, who had been married for nine years after a long-term romance, appeared happy on social media, often sharing pictures of their pets and their life together, which has left relatives and neighbors stunned by the sudden violence. According to police reports, the fatal attack occurred on a Sunday morning when Vishnunath used a weapon to inflict deep wounds on Alma’s neck and head, resulting in her immediate death. After the crime, Vishnunath confessed to his elder brother, a lawyer living nearby, who then alerted the Parassala police. While Vishnunath claimed that frequent arguments over not having children led to the killing, investigators are probing whether there were other underlying motives or if the act was a result of sudden provocation.
