In a tragic incident at Ponnani, a 23-year-old fisherman named Muhammad was arrested for the brutal murder of his 22-year-old wife, Fathima, at the Azheekal beach. The crime was discovered after local residents noticed stray dogs dragging something in the sand, revealing Fathima’s partially buried body. Investigations revealed that Muhammad lured Fathima and their four-month-old child to the beach under the guise of taking a walk, where a heated argument ensued over his suspicions regarding her social media usage and alleged infidelity. In a fit of rage, Muhammad reportedly strangled Fathima with her own shawl in front of their infant before attempting to hide the body and fleeing with the child.
