In a shocking case from Andhra Pradesh, a software engineer named Kiran was arrested for the cold-blooded murder of his wife, Padmaja, driven by an obsession with physical beauty and greed for her property. Despite being married with a young child, Kiran harbored deep resentment toward Padmaja due to her weight gain after pregnancy, often humiliating her by stating he was ashamed to be seen with her. To eliminate her and claim her wealth, Kiran spent months researching untraceable murder methods online, eventually purchasing a lethal poison from a YouTuber in Hyderabad for ₹80,000. On April 29, he lured Padmaja to his family home, where he fed her poisoned sweets; when the poison failed to kill her instantly, he smothered her with a pillow. Although he initially attempted to dismiss her death as a heart attack, Padmaja’s suspicious parents insisted on an autopsy, which exposed the poisoning and suffocation, leading to Kiran’s full confession.
